Topic: Common Counseling Needs in Today’s Culture
* Carol is currently the Administrator of Community Counseling Services, a program of the Methodist Home for Children of Philadelphia. With offices located in Bangor, Easton, and Palmerton, Pennsylvania, Community Counseling Services provides mental health therapy, psychiatric medication management, and referral to children and families struggling with mental health needs, often in the midst of stressors such as unstable housing, unemployment, substance abuse, and family systems dysfunction. The agency accepts both public (Medicaid) and private insurances, and it works closely with community partners to ensure that financially needy children and families can pursue treatment, and that they have the basic physical essentials that they need for living and social, emotional, psychological, educational, emotional, and spiritual development to achieve their greatest potential.
Carol’s education and work history include a Master’s degree in US history and community college teaching, as well as a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling and a Master’s in Social Work. In addition to her administrative position at Community Counseling Services, which includes a small caseload of clients, she serves at the Christian Education Director at her church. Carol and her husband Brian are the parents of three children: Nate (age 14), Grace (age 13), and Sarah (age 9).
