Samantha Bunsa, Mount Olive Health Dept.: September is Food Safety Month

On a recent edition of the Morning Program on RNJ, Morning Mike welcomed Samantha Bunsa, a Health Educator with the Mount Olive Health Department. September is “Food Safety Month,” and important topic, considering that the U.S. Center for Disease Control estimates that 48 million Americans get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die each year from food borne illnesses. The sad part of this news is that most food borne disease is preventable with proper food handling. You can learn more about the CDC Food Safety Month tips and guidelines here.
