Hackettstown Elks Hold Essay Contest

The Hackettstown Elks is sponsoring an Americanism Contest. The theme is “What Makes You Proud to be an American”

This very important patriotic contest gives children the opportunity to express views on their pride in America.  Eligible participants must be students enrolled in the 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade at the time of the contest.  Essay length is not to exceed 300 words. Essay must be typed or legibly printed in ink. Participant must be identified by name, grade, school attending and Hackettstown Elks Lodge on the essay.

First place winners at the Lodge level will receive $50. Second and third place winners will receive certificates. Plaques will be awarded by the Elks Grand Lodge for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place for national winning essays in Division I (5th-6th) and Division II (7th-8th). Winners will be announced at the Grand Lodge Session in St. Louis, Missouri, June 30-July 3, 2019.
