Belvidere is coping with Hurricane Sandy as best they can. A shelter originally located at the town’s firehouse has been moved permanently to Warren County Technical School on Route 57 in Washington Township. The shelter will offer cots, food and shower through the Red Cross. Be sure register upon arrival. The town has also opened up their Municipal Building at 691 Water Street as a warming station. Restrooms and a place to charge electronics will be available, but there will be no showers or food provided. Belvidere encourages residents to bring their own food, and White Twp residents are welcome. There will be no pets allowed inside of the Municipal Building.

The town has yet again rescheduled their Halloween, moving the festivities to Saturday November 10th from 4 to 7 pm. Garbage pickup for Friday will be postponed until next Friday, the 9th. Walmart has donated ice to the Good Will Fire Company at 681 Water Street, residents are welcome to pick up ice while supplies last.
