As the Moore Street Market prepares to open on June 1st, BID Director Jim Sheldon is pleased to report that the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center has stepped up as the Market’s primary sponsor. “The connection between health and wellness and the availability of farm-fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat products makes it a natural fit for HRMC to sponsor the Moore Street Market,” said Sheldon.

The Market will continue to be located on Moore Street at the Main Street Gazebo every Saturday from June 1st through September, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. The Market will welcome not only local farmers, but also craftspeople and artisans with a variety of unique products. BREAKING: St. Mary’s School To Close Permanently In June

HACKETTSTOWN – After 61 years, the Saint Mary’s School is closing its doors for good come June.

School administrators gathered parents to inform them of the announcement Tuesday night, according to a source.

“They are devastated,” one parent told WRNJ, holding back tears. “My youngest, who is five, will be the last graduating kindergarten class. She cried herself to sleep last night.”

The decision was reportedly handed down by the Diocese of Metuchen. A representative from the Diocese says the cause was low enrollment. Parents are saying the Diocese reneged on a promise to keep the doors open one more year.

“We were guaranteed until the end of the next school year to boost our enrollment and we had a lot of plans to make that happen,” said one parent who wished to remain unidentified.

So far no word on what will happen to the facilities.

The Hackettstown Municipal Utilities Authority Hydrant Flushing is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on the following evenings: May 12, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, and 21st. Nightly flushing is normally completed by 6 a.m. the following morning. Flushing is also scheduled during the day on May 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
