Flanders Fire Co. #1 to host 100th anniversary celebration this Saturday

FLANDERS, NJ (Morris County) – In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Flanders Fire Co. #1, the department is hosting an event on Saturday, Aug. 12.

The celebration will be held at Turkey Brook Park, located at 30 Flanders Road, in Budd Lake from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Join the fire company for stories, activities and meeting some of their members. There will be food, a beer garden as well as a chance to purchase anniversary mugs.

You will also be able to see parts of their history with different images and memorabilia that signify the different evolutions of their equipment and how the department grew to what it is today.

The celebration will also have a fireworks display.

On August 8, Mount Olive Township Council President Joe Nicastro presented a proclamation to Flanders Fire Co. #1 Chief Mike McDermott and a room full of firefighters honoring their 100th anniversary.
