Electrical issue to blame for 3-alarm fire at Jefferson Twp home

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A three-alarm fire that ripped through a Millburn Drive home Monday morning is under investigation but the origin appears to be electrical in nature, according to Deputy Chief Eric Wilsusen.

Police responded to 9 Millburn Drive at 5:09 a.m. on a report of a structure fire.

The home was engulfed in flames and the homeowner was out of the home, when officers arrived, according to a news release.

There were no injuries and the fire was brought under control at about 6:30 a.m., police said.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene.

Assisting the Jefferson Twp. Fire Co.#1 & 2 was the Jefferson Rescue Squad, Mt. Arlington Fire, Sparta Fire and Picatinny Fire.
