Great Meadows woman arrested for heroin and marijuana possession

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A 25-year-old Great Meadows woman is facing drug charges after she was observed nodding off at The Vapor Room.

On Tuesday at 6:37 p.m., Mount Olive police responded to The Vapor Room, located at 141 Route 46, for a report of suspicious activity, police said.

The officer arrived on scene and was advised that a female was observed nodding off in the store. She then left and entered a 2011 white BMW, which was parked in the parking lot, police said.

The officer made contact with the female driver in the vehicle, and identified her as Alexa Montanaro.

As the officer spoke to Montanaro, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle and she appeared to be impaired, police said.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and two plastic baggies of suspected marijuana was located in a purse. Montanaro was found to be in possession of several glassine baggies containing suspected heroin, police said.

Montanaro was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and under the influence of CDS. She was released pending a court hearing.
