State Police searching for group that stole more than $7,000 cash with distraction scam

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s help in identifying four suspects wanted in a distraction scam.

“It’s time to spare a share, people. We’re serious. You mean you can’t spare one share? Just one share? We’ve got ‪#‎AnselAdams‬ quality photos here, so we feel good about this one!,” State Police said.

On Sunday May 22 at 8:25 a.m. a man and three women worked together to steal more than $7,000 cash from the Broadway Motel located on Route 57 in Franklin Township in Warren County.

The man and a women told the manager they were interested in renting a room and asked if they could see one, according to a news release.

While the couple distracted the manager, the other two women entered the office and removed the cash from a drawer.

The foursome used a dark-colored minivan, possibly a Honda Odyssey.

“So, again, please ‪#‎SpareAShare‬! We’ve got four sets of bracelets that would look great on these folks! Share even if you don’t live in the area. You share, your friends share, their friends who aren’t friends with you share, their friends who aren’t friends with the friends who aren’t friends with your friends share, and before you know it, we have a positive ID,” State Police said.
