Hakettstown, Mansfield police raise $4,040 with ‘Beards in Blue’ fundraiser

Hackettstown and Mansfield Police Departments raised $4,040 money in November with their ‘Beards in Blue’ fundraiser.

The departments raised $4,040 and the money went to The Joan Knechel Cancer Center at Hackettstown Medical Center, police said.

During the fundraiser, officers put down their razors and sported beards while in uniform, police said.

Their anti-shave campaign was meant to raise cancer awareness and encourage people to live healthy lives and get regular medical checkups. Cancer research and treatments are very costly, and we wanted to lend as much help as possible to those who are fighting for a cure, police said.

“We would like to thank those who donated and we look forward to participating and raising more funds next year,” police said.
