N.J. State Police trooper, BMW driver injured in I-80 crash in Roxbury Twp.

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A New Jersey State Police trooper and a driver of a BMW were injured after a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Roxbury Township early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred at 5:20 a.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 31.8, according to state police.

The trooper was travelling east on the interstate, when a BMW struck the rear of the trooper’s vehicle, state police said.

The trooper and the BMW driver were transported to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the BMW was not injured, state police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, state police said.
