HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown woman was injured after a crash on Washington St in Hackettstown Wednesday afternoon.
At around 3:07 p.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of Washington St and Church St for a report of a motor vehicle crash with entrapment, police said.
When officers arrived on scene, Denise Bingle, 48, was trapped inside her vehicle but was able to self-extricate herself, police said.
Through a police investigation, it was determined that Bohdan Sydor-Czartorysky, 62, of River Edge, NJ was travelling in a 2006 Dodge south on Church St. He was at the stop sign and was inching forward. He allegedly told police he didn’t see any cars coming and then proceeded through the intersection. His vehicle then struck a 2015 Hyundai, driven by Bingel, which was travelling east on Washington St, police said.
Bingel’s vehicle left the roadway, striking a curb, a sign and then a tree on the front lawn of 426 Washington St, police said.
Bingel suffered facial injuries and was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center, police said.
A 13-year-old female passenger in Bingel’s vehicle and Bohdan were not injured, police said.
Sydor-Czartorysky was issued a summons for careless driving.
Washington St between West Plane St and West Moore St was closed for approximately 45 minutes.
Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown Fire Department, Hackettstown Rescue Squad, St Clare’s paramedics and the Hackettstown Department of Public Works and the Warren County Fire Marshal.
