$5.1M worth of marijuana seized on I-78 in Warren County

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A California man was arrested Tuesday hauling more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana valued at $5,145,000.000 million in Greenwich Township, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

New Jersey State Police Mobile Safe Freight Training Unit allegedly found the drugs in 44 cardboard boxes as they searched a tractor-trailer at the Interstate 78 eastbound weigh station.

Guangyu Wu, 45, of Chino, California was  charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute more than 25 pounds of marijuana and fourth-degree possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana.

The first degree offense carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and or a fine of $300,000. The fourth degree offense carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 18 months and or a fine.

Wu remains lodge din the Warren County Correctional Facility.
