Andover Twp. implements ‘no-knock’ solicitor regulation

ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – The Andover Township Committee passed an ordinance this week to implement a ‘no-knock’ registry to stop unwanted door-to-door solicitation.

This ordinance (2018-11) pertains to a resident being able to opt out of having registered solicitors come to their residence.

To be added to the ‘no-knock’ registry, a resident must complete and return an application for no-knock registry form to the Clerk’s office, located at 134 Newton-Sparta Road, or email it back to

Residents will then be added to the list which is distributed to solicitors, peddlers and canvassers registered with the town as per the ordinance. The list will be updated quarterly.

Residnets can also post your own visible “No Solicitors” sign no larger than 9×12 inches on your property in addition to registering with the Municipal Clerk’s Office.

Anyone with additional questions regarding this you can contact Town Hall at 973-383-4280.
