Authorities investigating after man’s body pulled from water in Morris County

BOONTON, NJ (Morris County) – Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a deceased man found Tuesday in the Town of Boonton, according to Morris County Prosecutor’s  Office Public Information Officer Peter DiGennaro.

The man was discovered in a body of water at Grace Lord Park.

The cause and manner of death are currently pending a final determination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, DiGennaro said.

The identity of the deceased male is pending formal identification and notification to next of kin, DiGennaro said.

This matter appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community, DiGennaro said.

The investigation is currently being conducted by the Town of Boonton Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office.
