Crowd turns out for National Night Out in Hackettstown (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A crowd turned out Tuesday for Hackettstown’s National Night Out, which is meant to improve relationships between the community and police.

The event was held at the pool field on Warren St.

For a four-hour stretch, residents had the opportunity to interact with members of the police department in an evening that offered free swimming at the community pool, free showing of the movie Coco (Sponsored by the Hackettstown Recreation Commission), and a healthy dose of crime prevention awareness.

Ptl. Laver and K-9 Jada gave a K-9 demonstration.

Fire, police and rescue units and many other organizations brought information, fire trucks, emergency vehicles, and more to give the public and kids a hands-on experience.

Mars Wrigley Confectionery and Hackettstown Medical Center handed out free treats to visitors.
