CT man pleads guilty to vehicular homicide

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Connecticut man has pled guilty to vehicular homicide, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III.

Joe A. Holmes, 58, of Willimantic pled guilty on Friday to second-degree vehicular homicide.

Holmes was arrested on December 26, 2017, after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 202 and Summer Road in Readington Township, Kearns said.

The driver of second vehicle, Wilson A. Sumbana, 57, of South Bound Brook, was killed in the crash, Kearns said.

Holmes was also charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving, Kearns said.

Holmes was indicted by a Hunterdon County Grand Jury for one count of second-degree Vehicular Homicide on June 21.

Holmes is scheduled to be sentenced on October 26.
