Human chain rescues man who fell off a cliff in Byram Twp.

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Emergency personnel formed a human chain Wednesday night to rescue man who fell off a cliff in Byram Township, according to a post on the Byram Twp Fire Department’s Facebook page.

At around 10:11 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the area of 525 Waterloo Rd for a man injured after falling approximately 600 feet into the woods.

Mount Olive police reached the victim and observed him laying at the bottom rocky ledge. It was reported that he possibly fell off the cliff on Tuesday.

Due to the amount of time he was there and his injuries, a medevac was requested.

All the personal worked together to form a human chain to carry him down to the ambulance.

Scout employees from the Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation joined to assist in carrying the victim out.

The entire process of stabilizing and removing the victim from the woods took hour and ten mins.
