Man charged after eating $21 worth of food from grocery store

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A 39-year-old Monmouth County man was charged after he allegedly ate food from a grocery store without paying, according to the Greenwich Township police.

Michael D. Sally of Oakhurst was charged with shoplifting.

On Thursday, police responded to Shoprite, located at 1207 Route 22, for a report of a person consuming $21.22 of food while inside the store and attempting to leave without paying.

Through a police investigation, Sally was arrested and transported back to police headquarters.

Sally was released pending a court appearance.
