Man charged with attempted murder in Phillipsburg shooting

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ (Warren County) – A man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Phillipsburg last month, according to Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke.


Samaad Williams, 25, whose last known address was in the 100 block of Chambers Street in Phillipsburg, was charged with first-degree attempted murder and weapons charges.


Members of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Phillipsburg Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Washington Township Police Department, and the New Jersey State Police arrested Williams this afternoon on the 200 block of Franklin St in Trenton, Burke said.


Williams was wanted in connection to a September 14 shooting in the vicinity of the Hilltop Café, located on the 100 block of Hudson St, Burke said.


Williams is currently lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
