READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Mercer County man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly attempted to choke another person, police said.
Kareem Boyd, 34, of Hopewell was charged with simple assault and obstructing justice for refusing to be fingerprinted.
Police responded to the Whitehouse Motel on Friday for a disturbance and a person reportedly under the influence of drugs, police said.
Boyd allegedly had been involved in an altercation with someone else staying at the motel and was attempting to choke that person, police said.
Boyd was transported to police headquarters where he later refused to be fingerprinted, police said.
Boyd was then transported to the Hunterdon County Jail.
