Man driving car without tire arrested for DWI

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – An alleged intoxicated driver was stopped and placed under arrest when found him traveling through Greenwich Township missing one of his tires and driving without his headlights on, police said.

Raymond A. Hof, 41, of Phillipsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath samples, failure to use headlights, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, unsafe vehicle and unsafe tires.

On Saturday, July 28, 2018, at around 12:44 a.m., while conducting traffic enforcement on Route 22, an officer stopped a 2018 Hyundai Elantra for not having its headlights on and the vehicle missing a tire, police said.

While the officer was speaking with Hof, he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, police said.

Subsequently, Hof was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Hof was released on his own recognizance and is to appear at the Greenwich Township Municipal Court on September, 13 at 1:00 p.m.
