Man selling sound systems without permit asked cop to make purchase

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hudson County man who was selling sound systems without permit asked the cop if he wanted purchase one, police said.

Jonathan Kimball, 37, of Union City with soliciting without a permit.

On Saturday at around 1:42 p.m., police responded to the Lowe’s parking lot, located at 217 Route 182, for a report of a male selling TV’s out of a vehicle, police said.

When officers arrived, they observed his vehicles trunk open with several unopened boxes of surround sound systems, police said.

The officer approached Kimball and he allegedly asked the officer if he wanted to purchase one, police said.

Through an investigation it was determined that Kimball didn’t have a solicitor’s permit.

Kimball was released pending a court appearance.
