READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County man and woman were killed in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide.
The investigation has determined the deaths were as a result of domestic violence, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III said.
Readington Township Police were called to a residence on the 100 block of Readington Road for a report of an injured woman. Officers discovered Kimberly Uvenio, 48, deceased from what appeared to be blunt force trauma, Kearns said.
A K9 track for the suspect lead to a shed on the property where Salvatore Uvenio, 52, was also deceased from what appeared to be self-inflicted asphyxiation. An autopsy was performed Saturday morning and confirmed the cause of death, Kearns said.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to family affected by this tragedy. We ask that the public and media please be respectful of the family and their residence during this time of need.
