Missing Hopatcong man’s car found abandoned in Virginia

HOPATCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – Authorities in Page County, Virginia located the vehicle of a missing 36-year-old Hopatcong man on Sunday.

Edward Piccola’s unoccupied vehicle was located at a public boat landing in the Page Valley Estates area of Page County, located in Luray, Virginia, near Lot 8, according to a post on the Page County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Piccola has been missing  since May 30 and was last seen at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub in Sparta.

Page County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, with the assistance of the Virginia State Police Aviation Division, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office bloodhound unit and Page County Emergency Management officials have been conducting ground and air searches in the area of where the vehicle was located.

Piccola is described as a white male, 5’9, 140-160lbs. He has no known ties to the area.

The Page County Sheriff’s Office is currently working with Detectives from The Sussex County New Jersey Prosecutors Office and The Hopatcong New Jersey Police Department to locate a missing person from their jurisdiction.
