Newton man charged with DWI after I-80 crash in Allamuchy Twp. (PHOTOS)

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Newton man is facing multiple charges including driving while intoxicated following a crash in Allamuchy Township early Saturday morning, according to New Jersey State Police Sergeant Lawrence Peele.

Timothy Haines, 25, was charged with charged with DWI and multiple traffic summonses, Peele said.

The crash happened westbound at mile marker 17.4 at 12:23 a.m., Peele said.

According to Peele, Haines was travelling eastbound in a Volkswagen Jetta when he crossed over the center median and was struck by a westbound tractor-trailer, driven by Vladimir Lobachev, 46, of Waterford, MI, Peele said.

Haines sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center. Lobachev was not injured in the crash, Peele said.

Interstate 80 was closed for approximately five hours, Peele said.
