Person ran over cat on purpose, posted about it on social media

HOPATCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A person has been charged after allegedly running over a cat on purpose and then posted about it online.

Vasfije Cain, the person’s age and hometown were not released, was charged with hitting a domestic animal and failing to report, police said.

On August 22, police received information regarding an incident where a domestic animal was struck by a vehicle on purpose. The investigation was turned over to Animal Control Officer Gianna Dimatteo, police said.

Police didn’t release if the cat survived.

According to police, Cain posted this statement social media “As he drives mom around and runs over 3 cats maybe people should keep there cats at there house and not on the street so proud of him Eliminating the cat population”.
