Police: Alleged drunk driver clocked at 15 mph in 55 mph zone, resisted arrest

READINGTON TONWHSIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A woman is facing multiple charges after an officer pulled her over for driving 40 mph below the speed limit Tuesday night.

Laura Delsignore, 33, of Royal Palm Beach, FL was charged with DUI, failure to consent to breath test, fail to maintain lane, consumption of alcohol in a vehicle, open containers in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and theft of movable property.

At around 10:35 p.m., an officer was on Route 202 when the officer observed a vehicle that was unable to maintain it’s lane and was allegedly traveling 15 mph in a 55 mph zone. The officer then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, police said.

Upon approaching the driver’s window and speaking with Delsignore, a strong odor of alcohol was emanating from the vehicle, police said.

Delsignore failed field sobriety tests and was then advised she was under arrest. She resisted the officer’s commands to place her arms behind her back and physically resisted his attempts to handcuff her. She attempted to pull away from the officer and fell to the ground where she was handcuffed, police said.

Delsignore was then placed in the patrol car. Upon arrival at the police station it was discovered that she removed her own handcuffs and the handcuffs were not in the vehicle. Once in the police station it was discovered after reviewing the in car camera footage, that she concealed the handcuffs in her bra, police said.

Delsignore was released to a friend.
