Rotarians honor Hackettstown, Warren Hills football players (PHOTOS)

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The annual luncheon to honor the most valuable players of the Hackettstown-Warren Hills game was held Tuesday at Panther Valley Golf & Country Club in Allamuchy Township.

Hackettstown’s Tim Ervey and Matt Castro were recognized as the offensive and defensive players of the game.

Warren Hill’s Garrett Koch and Zach Hamilton were recognized as the offensive and defensive players of the game.

A tradition began in 1986 where the winner of the game gets to keep the beater board at their school for the year.  The beater board is a board, which consists of the history of each teams wins. This was to promote good sportsmanship, positive community support and positive school pride. This year the beater board went to Warren Hills, who won by a score of 38-14 on Oct. 27.

The annual luncheon is hosted by the Hackettstown and Washington Rotary Clubs.
