Shop with a Cop: Hackettstown, Mansfield cops spread holiday cheer to local children (PHOTOS)

Officers from Hackettstown and Mansfield Township police departments were busy spreading holiday cheer to kids Tuesday night.

The Hackettstown-Mansfield PBA Local 369 organized their first Shop with a Cop, treating local children to gifts at the Walmart store in Mansfield Township.

For the event, children were paired up with a police officer, who helped them select gifts which were paid for by the PBA.

While the goal of the event is to bring some holiday cheer to families in need, the effort also builds a healthy rapport between residents and police officers, Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

“It’s a positive way to help out families, give time to the community,” Tynan said.
