Suspicious man follows girl after getting off school bus in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown Police said a suspicious man followed a girl after she was dropped off at her bus stop Thursday evening.

On Friday at around 4:31 p.m. police received a report of a suspicious man that allegedly followed a female student on Thursday evening after a school bus dropped her off at a bus stop on East Prospect St, police said.

The incident occurred between 5:25 p.m. and 5:35 p.m., police said.

The victim observed a man pacing in front of homes on East Prospect St and after she passed him, he started following her east on Main St. As the man was behind her, he began asking her questions, police said.

The man continued to follow and harass her. She then went into a business to get away from the man, police said.

He was last seen in front of the Frutimex Supermarket store, located at 118 Main St, police said.

The man is described as possibly Indian, 5’5”, late 20’s to early 30’s, darker skin, black wavy hair and gray-yellow teeth. He was last seen wearing light blue shirt, dark blue jeans or cargo pants and pink ear buds.
