Sussex County man sentenced to prison for dealing LSD

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to distribution of LSD charge, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Kevin Dilks, 43, of Hopatcong was sentenced by the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, on October 23.

Dilks allegedly admitted that on March 12, in the Hopatcong Borough, he distributed Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) while he was on drug court probation.  The matter was a joint investigation by the Hopatcong Police Department and the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force.

Dilks was sentenced to 12 years state prison with a five year period of parole ineligibility, 225 days jail credit, $3,205.00 in fines and a two year loss of driver’s license.

Dilks pled guilty on July 31 to the first-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
