Warren County man charged with eluding police

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A 26-year-old Stewartsville man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly eluded police in Greenwich Township Saturday evening.

Phillip R. Remig was charged with fourth-degree eluding, driving while suspended, expired registration and maintenance of lamps.

At around 11:47 p.m., police were advised by the Washington Township Police (Warren County) that they had just terminated a vehicle pursuit involving a red Volkswagen on Route 57, police said.

Police located the vehicle on South Main Street pulling into Remig’s driveway, police said.

Remig parked his vehicle, and ran into his residence. A short foot chase ensued, resulting in him being arrested, police said.

Remig was scheduled to appear at the Warren County Superior Court on July 30 at 9:00 am. He was turned over to the Washington Township Police Department for additional charges that had occurred in their jurisdiction, police said.
