Woman accused of stealing $152K from former employer in Mount Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County woman has been charged after allegedly stealing $152,000.00 from her former employer in the span of five years

Angela J. Messina, 53, of Landing was charged on Monday with theft and fraud.

On Feb. 27, the owner of  Wicklow and Laurano LLC and Accurate Irrigation LLC. reported theft of funds from the companies that he owns with various business partners.

The owner reported that over the span of five years money was taken from both businesses totaling $152,000.00, police said.

Through the course of an eight month investigation, it was revealed that that Messina, who was an ex-employee of the company, was responsible for the theft, police said.

Messina was found to have written multiple fraudulent checks to pay personal bills, and to deposit into her personal checking account, police said.

Messina was released pending a court appearance.
