Woman charged after filing false sexual assault report, police said

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Newton woman has been charged after allegedly filing a false police report claiming she was sexually assaulted by two men, according to Newton Police Lieutenant Robert Osborn.

Jamie Decker, 24, was charged with second-degree knowingly giving false information to a law enforcement officer with purpose to implicate another, Osborn said.

On October 6 at 10:40 a.m., police received a report from Decker who indicated that she had been sexually assaulted during the evening hours on October 5 at a sixth floor apartment located at 33 Mill St, Osborn said.

A police investigation revealed that Decker filed a false police report attempting to implicate two adult males who had been in her company earlier that night, Osborn said.
