Woman charged with DUI after hitting parked car, building in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hunterdon County woman is facing multiple charges including driving while under the influence after she allegedly struck a parked car and a building last month in Hackettstown.

Anne George, 38, was charged on Monday with possession of heroin, being under the influence of CDS, possession of hypodermic syringe, failure to produce insurance card, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, driving while under the influence, reckless driving and careless driving.

On Oct. 26 at around 11:27 p.m., police responded to 227 Main St for a report of car that struck a building, police said.

Through a police investigation it was determined that George was driving a 2015 Mercedes-Benz west on Main St when she struck a 2009 Nissan parked along the street, police said.

After striking the Nissan, George drove off the roadway and struck the front of Fiedler Realty, located at 227 Main St, across from Hometown Hardware. The building sustained minor damage, police said.

It was revealed that George was allegedly operating the vehicle under the influence, police said.

George complained of neck pain and was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center, police said.

George had in her possession 24 glassine bags containing suspected heroin, 3 glassine bags containing suspected heroin residue and a hypodermic syringe, police said.

Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown Fire Department and Hackettstown Rescue Squad.

George was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
