1 dead, 2 seriously injured in I-80 crash in Hope Twp.

HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Hope Township Tuesday morning, according to State Police spokesman Trooper Alejandro Goez.

The crash happened westbound at mile marker 12 at 9:33 a.m., Goez said.

According to Goez, Genesis Dacosta-Gomez, 25, of New York, NY was travelling westbound in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Dacosta-Gomez and rear seat passenger, Maria Delosantos-Rosario, 65, of New York, NY both sustained serious injures and were transported to an area hospital, Goez said.

The front seat passenger, Louise Dacosta-Gomez, 71, of New York, NY, was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 11:08 a.m, Goez said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Goez said.
