Bullet found at Blairstown Elementary School

BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A sixth-grade student found a bullet at Blairstown Elementary School Thursday.

The student found the .22 caliber bullet and promptly notified a teacher. The bullet was immediately secured by school staff, police said.

Police were contacted and responded immediately to take possession of the bullet. At no time were any children in danger, police said.

“The Blairstown Elementary School took every appropriate action and precaution. The safety off all the children is always the Blairstown Police and BES first priority,” police said.

Police urge all parents who maintain firearms in their homes, to take every precaution that weapons and ammunition are firmly secured at all times and not within the reach of children.
