Fire destroys home in Washington Twp. (PHOTOS)

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A fire destroyed a home in Washington Township early Friday morning, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp.

Firefighters say the fire broke out at 197 East Mill Road, located in the Long Valley section of the township, at 2:38 a.m.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire has resulted in no reported injuries, Knapp said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene was the Washington Township Police Department, the Washington Township Fire Companies, the Washington Township Office of Emergency Management, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Fire/Environmental Unit for their efforts in this matter, Knapp said.
