GoFundMe Campaign Raised for Mansfield Hit and Run Victim

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A GoFundMe campaign is raising money to help support a Mansfield man who was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in Mansfield Village last week.

According to Mansfield police, Matthew Zeigler was run over by 19-year-old Jordan Cannon around 9:45 AM on Wednesday, February 27th. You can read our original story about the accident here.

Zeigler suffered injuries to his head and was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, according to police. At the hospital, doctors performed emergency surgery to stop bleeding from the head and remove a blood clot. According to the GoFundMe page started to help cover Zeigler’s medical bills, he survived the surgery and is now recovering from a fractured skull.

A facebook comment by one of Zeigler’s family members claims that his
fiancé is currently missing work to tend to Zeigler during his recovery.

The campaign has, so far, raised $195 of its $8,000 goal.
