Man accused of harassing Byram Twp. employees

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Byram Township man has been charged after allegedly leaving explicit and offensive voicemail messages to township employees.

Wayne A. Alvarez was issued a summons on Wednesday for harassment.

According to police, for the last several months, Alvarez left numerous voicemail messages for several different Byram Township employees regarding a matter between him and the township.

The messages that were left for the township employees included explicit and offensive language and some of the employees interpreted parts of the messages to be threatening in nature, police said.

Alvarez has a pending Andover-Joint Municipal Court date.
