New Jersey High School Bans Students from Renting Limousines for Senior Prom

WANAQUE, NJ (Passaic County) – A New Jersey High school has banned seniors from renting limousines or party buses for prom.

Reports indicate that the school district implemented the ban to provide a “level playing field” for all students. They also say the goal is for their student body to enjoy a shared prom experience “despite their socioeconomic status.”

However, many students at Lakeland Regional High School aren’t happy with the district’s decision. Senior class Vice President Britney Tomasella tells ABC News, “All our siblings have done it, older grades have done it, and there’s no problems.”

Students hope another meeting will be scheduled in March to discuss the matter further.
