State Police seize more than $1,600 worth of drugs during traffic stop in Hunterdon County

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – New Jersey State Police arrested a Pennsylvania man and seized more than $1,600 worth of crack, heroin and marijuana during a traffic stop Thursday evening, state police said.

Luis Carrillo, 39, of Laureldale was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, distribution of crack- cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of prescription legend drugs and failure to turnover evidence.

At 10:39 p.m., troopers stopped Carrillo for a traffic violation on Interstate 78 westbound at milepost 8.2 in Bethlehem Township, state police said.

During the stop, troopers discovered Carrillo was in possession of heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, marijuana and prescription legend drugs, state police said.

Carillo was lodged in Hunterdon County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
