MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Two additional people have been charged following an incident where a man was run over by a vehicle last month in Mansfield Township, according to police.
Matthew J. Zeigler, 29, of Mansfield Township was charged with disorderly conduct.
Michael Tang, 22, of Mansfield Township was charged with disorderly conduct.
On Feb. 27, at 9:45 a.m. police responded to the Mansfield Village Apartments when Zeigler’s girlfriend reported that two men were allegedly harassing her boyfriend, police said.
The girlfriend told police that her boyfriend was run over by their vehicle, police said.
Zeigler was found bleeding from the head and transported by Mansfield Township rescue squad to Morristown Medical Center, police said.
After a description of the vehicle was provided to police by the girlfriend, a township detective located the vehicle at 11:30 a.m. travelling on Route 57.
The detective then stopped the vehicle and took the driver, who was identified as Jordan D. Cannon of Mansfield Township, into custody, police said.
Cannon was charged on Feb. 27 with assault by auto, endangering, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injury and failure to report an accident. He was then lodged in the Warren County Jail pending a court appearance.
Zeigler was charged for his alleged behavior just prior to the incident, police said.
Tang, who was a passenger in Cannon’s vehicle, was charged stemming from an alleged prior incident with the Ziegler, police said.
Zeigler and Tang were released pending a court appearance.
The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Team assisted in the investigation.
