David Kelber:

Dave returns to WRNJ after an absence of nearly 10 years, He began his career upon graduation from college in 1967 working at WRIO-FM, Cape May, New Jersey.He was program manager at WVCH, Chester, Pennsylvania prior to enlisting in the millitary. While in the Army he produced motion pictures at the Pictorial Center in Queens, New York. After military service he worked at WHTG, Eatontown, New Jersey, as operations manager and in 1975 he moved to Flemington, New Jersey as Director of Broadcasting, teacher and general manager of WCVH, FM at Hunterdon Central Regional High School until his retirement in 2007. Kelber has worked at WCRV, Washington, New Jersey, WEST, and WLEV-FM, Easton, Pennsylvania, He is a professional photographer/videographer and owns his own photography and video business. He is married and lives in Easton, Pennsylvania.


 

Lew White:
The Afternoon Drive Home: Weekdays 4PM - 7PM
Saturday Morning Program: Saturdays 6AM - 9AM
Started working at WRNJ on March 1, 1980. Originally he did the mid-day shift. When morning man Tony Rutledge moved to Alaska Lew moved to Morning Drive time for a few months until Jim West was hired for mornings and Lew moved to afternoon drive and was promoted to Operations Mgr. At the time (and it still is true today) Lew told GM Norman Worth that WRNJ could never be "too local" and that has been the key to WRNJ's success over the years. Lew brought the concept of "Swap n Shop" down from his experience with the program in Central NH. From 1983-1987 Lew pursued other radio positions in the Lehigh Valley and suburban Chicago. In the fall of 1987 Lew returned to WRNJ as a member of the sales department for about 12 years. Lew is currently still in sales in Fairfield NJ. Lew can be heard every Saturday Morning from 6-9 AM and hosts the weekend version of Swap n Shop. Lew can also be heard weekends on WGHT in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Lew White is married with 5 boys who keep him very busy. He resides in Rockaway NJ.


Joyce Estey:

Educationally Speaking: Third Wednesday of the month 10AM - 11AM
As a second career (third if you count motherhood) Joyce Estey really loves her work. Estey came on-board as the WRNJ News Director in March of '98. Since then she's come to know a lot about the area, the people and their needs. Besides being the Straight-Man opposite Dave Kelber on the live morning show, Estey is a fill-in host for some of the stations community programs. Twice a year she coordinates political forums, to keep her listeners informed before they head out to the polls. Prior to joining WRNJ, Estey spent 2 years as the news director at WSUS, and interned at WNNJ, both stations are in Sussex County. Estey's off-air time is filled with family. She is a wife and mother of 3, an active member of her church, an avid reader, and has a daily regimen of exercise to benefit both body and mind.


Chuck Reiger:
The Midday Program: Weekdays Noon - 4PM
Program Director
WRNJ's program director, Chuck Reiger was born and raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.... and has been in Warren County radio since the early 1970's. He began his radio career as a weekend air personality at WCRV in Washington, New Jersey...quickly moving up to program director. He was also program director, on two different occasions, at WFMV in Blairstown, New Jersey. In between, he spent a few years at WEST & WLEV in Easton, Pennsylvania. Finally, finding a comfortable home, right here at WRNJ Radio. Chuck also worked on weekends at WVPO in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.


Harlin Jeffries:
Sports - Hackettstown Tigers Football
Harlin became a member of the WRNJ "broadcast family" in 2003, and in 2004 was promoted to the position of Sports Director. Harlin was also the play-by-play voice of the Hackettstown Men's Softball League, and can be heard calling high school football actionfor the Hackettstown Tigers, and the West Morris Central Wolf Pack. After graduating from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1999, Harlin landed a production job at Bergen County's Jukebox Radio. Shortly thereafter he was promoted to Operations manager, a position he held until the station was sold in 2003. Born in Suffern, New York (Rockland County), and raised in nearby Sloatsburg, Harlin got his first taste of radio as a communications and theatre major at West Chester State College in West Chester, PA. He also attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, which led to several "interesting but obscure" Off-Broadway roles. Harlin can also be heard in the northwest New Jersey area providing play-by-play for Centenary College teams on WNTI 91.9 FM. Besides on-air radio work, Harlin is also an instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and is employed at NJ Sports/Weather Phone.


Dan Callas:
Newscaster
Following an internship with WRNJ in 2008, Dan signed on as a reporter following his graduation from Christopher Newport University in May 2009. He soon moved up to anchor the afternoon newscasts where he’s been since fall of 2009. Armed with a degree in political science and a minor in journalism, Dan's passionate about being the public’s source of information and it’s a responsibility he doesn’t take lightly. But that’s not to say the newsroom isn’t a fun place to be every weekday afternoon…

 

Peter Ward:
Sunday Brunch: Sundays 6AM - 10AM

Peter started his career in radio in 1995 as a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. He's been the Morning Man at WVPO in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania since 1998. In his spare time, when he's not out on the dance floor, Peter can be found bicycling around New Jersey "finding joints that prepare the best hamburgers and coldest beer".

Rich Appel:
The Rest of the Week: Saturdays 9AM - 1PM
For Rich, what goes around comes around. After working on and off-air at a bunch of stations in New England, he hung up the headphones to concentrate on a career in research at television (ABC, CBS) and record labels. In 1996, Rich began writing Hz So Good, a lighthearted monthly e-newsletter about music, radio and music radio. In 2009, Rich was encouraged to take those headphones back down from the wall. Now he's at ‘RNJ Saturdays, and, like Sir Lew White, also DJs on WGHT in Pompton Lakes. Rich is also the co-writer of Book of Days: 60s and Book of Days: 70s, two fun reviews of each decade's pop culture. (You'll find each, bonus CD included, at Barnes & Noble).

 


Greg James:

Greg James started his Radio career at both Lehigh University and East Stroudsburg University. Greg Left radio for an upper management position. He then met his wife and started a family. After several years, Greg decided to fulfill his true passion....RADIO.

 

 

 

 

Reverend Dr. Frank Fowler:
Let's Talk About It: Mondays 10AM - 11AM
Reverend Dr. Frank Fowler is the Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown, now in his 23rd year of service there. He is a native of Hackettstown, and he and his wife Karen have 5 daughters. Rev. Fowler has been hosting “Let’s Talk About It” for 10 years. He views the show as a “community outreach service, offering listeners a chance to hear about some of the important human, community, social and personal issues that face us all.” Each week a different guest talks with him about one of those issues. Guests include community leaders, national authors, social service professionals, pastors and a variety of other voices that help us think more deeply about what it means to be human.


Maria Chervenak:
Healthier Living: Alt. Tuedays 11AM - 12Noon
Maria Chervenak has enjoyed co-hosting "Healthier Living" for the last 8 years. Maria has been employed at Hackettstown Community Hospital since 1973, has her nursing degree from The College of New Jersey and a Master's degree in Health Administration. Maria has been married for 26 years and has 3 children, all in college. In her spare time she loves to read, mountain bike and relax on the beach.

 

 


Sandi Vaessen:
Start Packing: Fridays 11AM - 12PM
Sandi was born in Canada and has traveled the world since her marriage to her husband Gerard in 1972. She has two children, Bryce and Karlin, who were born in Cape Town South Africa and Ascot England respectively. The family has lived in Africa, Aruba, Britain, United Arab Emirates, Bermuda and Florida, before moving to New Jersey in 1989. Her 25 years as a travel consultant began as a flight attendant and flight service manager with Air Canada. Her formal training as a travel agent was begun during the three years she lived in Dubai with a company then called DNATA (Dubai National Air Transport Association), the forerunner to Emirates Airlines. She worked with companies such as Halliburton and other international corporations planning world wide itineraries. In 1995 she started Skyland World Travel with partner Susan Sinclair, and in September 2005 they celebrated their 10th year in business here in Hackettstown. Sandi is on the Board of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce, a former President and a member in good standing with the Hackettstown Rotary Club. In addition, Sandi volunteers her services with several other Warren County non-profit organizations. Since November of 2004, Sandi and her partner Susan Sinclair have hosted "Start Packing" and along with host Russ Long, is enjoying the challenges and rewards of becoming an "on-air personality".


Susan Sinclair:
Start Packing: Fridays 11AM - 12PM
Susan Sinclair is a “Jersey Girl”. She has traveled with her husband and son for over thirty years for business and vacations. Her travels have included Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Europe, Canada, USA and most of the Caribbean and Mexico. She also has a special love of cruising, both riverboat and ocean. Susan got her start in travel while working for a manufacturing company. She was involved in arranging incentives and making travel arrangements. For her most successful incentive, she won the Caribbean Award by “Meeting and Incentive Magazine” for promoting products and increasing sales. The trip that won her the award was for 200 distributors from all parts of the world meeting in Bermuda for a long weekend.Susan has been a Travel Agent for over 15 years. She started by planning her husband’s business trips. Sometimes those trips included the whole family. Susan would arrange business time and family time all on a budget. While her husband was attending to business, Susan and her son, Rob would take sightseeing trips in the countries they were visiting. Whether it’s for business or pleasure, Susan’s years of personal, hands-on experience can provide you with an excellent travel experience.


David Rucki:
Talk of the Town: Fridays 10AM - 11AM
David is the Executive Director of the Hackettstown Business Improvement District and host of "Talk of the Town." He received his undergraduate degree from Shepherd College where he also had his own sports radio talk show. He also has a Masters Degree from Centenary College. Before coming to work for the Hackettstown BID, David was District Director while working for the 23rd NJ Legislative District. He is currently the Director of the Colonial Musketeers Fife and Drum Corps. When he gets any kind of free time, he enjoys playing golf and watching his beloved NY Mets.

 


Michael Selvaggi:
What's Next: Alt. Thursdays 11AM - 12PM
Michael is a partner at the law firm of Courter, Kobert & Cohen, P.C. in Hackettstown, New Jersey. He has been with the firm since 1991, joining immediately after graduating from Seton Hall University School of Law. Before attending law school, Mr. Selvaggi received his undergraduate degree in Economics from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Selvaggi concentrates his practice in municipal, zoning and land use law. He represents several municipalities throughout northwest New Jersey, advising them on a variety of matters, including taxation, public bidding, contracts law and litigation. Mr. Selvaggi also appears regularly before zoning and planning boards throughout New Jersey. His expertise is sought in all aspects of the development process arranging from negotiating contracts, navigating through the regulatory process, and appearing before municipal bodies and court to litigate land use issues. Mr. Selvaggi’s practice includes representations of various business entities in their formations, acquisitions, sales and mergers. He works closely with corporations, limited liability companies, nonprofit agencies and partnerships to provide advice on a wide array of legal issues. He also represents area banks with respect to financing and lending matters. His practice also includes educational law, and represents a number of boards of education in northwest New Jersey. He counsels these boards on a myriad of educational issues, negotiates collective bargaining agreements and appears in Administrative Court with respect to special education matters. When not practicing law, Mr. Selvaggi devotes a substantial amount of time to a variety of legal and civic activities. He is Vice President of the Board of Directors for the ARC of Warren County, as well as Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. He formerly served as President of the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Warren County Bar Association. He has also been a member of the Board of Trustees for Hackettstown Regional Medical Center and continues to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation to the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. On his days off, Mr. Selvaggi enjoys spending time with his wife, Donna and their children. He volunteers regularly to coach his childrens’ sports teams and assists with their school activities.
