MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – A 33-year old man and a 31-year-old woman from New York have been arrested in Massachusetts on shoplifting charges after stealing over $2,500.00 worth of merchandise from the township Walmart on September 3.
Authorities were called to the Walmart on September 5 for a shoplifting incident that occurred at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, police said.
The two individuals entered the store with two small children and loaded one shopping cart with three televisions valued at $2,502.35 and filled another cart with DVDs before exiting the store without paying for the items, police said.
Walmart loss prevention was able to provide police with a license plate number out of Massachusetts, police said.
Mansfield police had assistance from the NYPD, Amhurst PD, M.A., New York Probation and other agencies to help identify the thieves as Pablo J. Minier, 33, and Stephanie Hodge, 31, both from Bronx, N.Y.
On October 2, 2016, warrants were issued for Minier and Hodge for third degree shoplifting and conspiracy. Bail was set at $6000.00 for Hodge and $10,000.00 for Minier, police said.
Massachusetts State Police stopped their vehicle on the same day the warrants were issued and arrested Hodge and Minier. During the stop a loaded handgun was found in the vehicle, Mansfield police said.
They were incarcerated in Massachusetts for various charges with bail being set on Minier at $30,000 and $25.000 on Hodge, police said.
