National Night Out – Now More Important Than Ever

(WarrenCounty)  -Today Pohatcong Mayor James Kern III issued a statement urging residents to attend National Night Out.

“I urge all residents to attend your local National Night Out Event next week. This is a great opprotunity to meet the brave men and women who protect your communinty everyday”.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign held on the first Tuesday in August, that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

“What I hope we learn is that this partnership should not just be celebrated on the first Tuesday in August but every day. There is too much anti-police rhetoric today and we need to show that we support our law enforcement!”

Pohatcong Township would hold its National Night Out on August 1st  at the Huntington Fire House, 1 Maple Ave., Phillipsburg, from 6 to 9 p.m.
