Pennsylvania woman indicted in fatal I-78 crash in Hunterdon County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Pennsylvania woman was indicted after being charged with driving while intoxicated in a fatal accident on Interstate 78 in August.

Tiasha C. Falu, age 35, of Reading, Pa. was indicted on March 9  by a Hunterdon County grand jury for second-degree death by auto and fourth-degree assault by auto, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announced Monday.

According to Prosecutor Kearns, “On August 21, 2016, Falu was traveling east on Interstate 78 in Clinton Township when she lost control of her vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned and the rear seat passenger, Ariel Lozano, age 32, of Reading, Pa, was ejected.”

Lozano was later pronounced dead at the scene and a juvenile passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash. Falu was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence, Kearns said.

Falu was arraigned on Monday, Kearns said.
