Record breaking crowd turns out for annual Hackettstown Halloween event (PHOTOS)

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — A record breaking crowd turned out for the fourth annual Halloween downtown parade and trick or treating event in Hackettstown Saturday afternoon.

The parade kicked off at Centenary University this year. The ghouls and goblins marched down Church St and ended on Main St where they were able to trick or treat at the Main St businesses. Mars Wrigley Confectionery handed out candy and the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center handed out toothbrushes to the trick or treaters at the Gazebo.

The sponsors of this year’s event, Hackettstown Police Department, Mars Wrigley Confectionery U.S., Hackettstown Medical CenterHackettstown Business Improvement District and Centenary University announce the following winners.

Best Costume (Infant to 3-Years-Old): 

Irie Nelson, 13 months, of Hackettstown, NJ as a Chicken.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best Costume (4-Years-Old to 6-Years-Old):

Dagny Grillo, 5, of Great Meadows, NJ as Cinderella.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best Costume (7-Years-Old to 10-Years-Old):

Joshua Hickey, 9, of Hackettstown, NJ as a Construction Worker.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best Pet Costume (Any Age):

Shannon Fielding with Dingo, Piper, Buttercup and Piper of Port Murray, NJ as Dorothy, Lion, Witch, Scarecrow and Tin Man.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The sponsors also thanked the Hackettstown Fire Department, Hackettstown First Aid & Rescue Squad, the Hackettstown Department of Public Works, businesses along Main St, Centenary University students, the volunteers and the participants.
