Tree falls on house, starts small fire in Warren County

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A tree that fell on a house sparked a small fire Wednesday night in Knowlton Township, according to a post on the Knowlton Twp. Fire and Rescue Company’s Facebook page.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m., the fire company was alerted to a reported roof fire after a tree fell on a house on Kill Road, authorities said.

The first arriving unit on scene found that a small fire was extinguished by the homeowner prior to their arrival. Units remained on scene until the utility company secured the power, the post said.

The Blairstown Hose Company and Portland Hook & Ladder Company were initially dispatched but canceled by the first unit on scene, authorities said.

No injuries were reported, the post said.
